“Wicked Nights” by, Gena Showalter

“Wicked nights” is the story of the angel Zacharel and the human girl, Annabelle Miller. Zacharel is being punished by his ruler for past misdeeds. He is put in command of a group of misfit angels and whenever one of his soldiers does something wrong Zacharel is punished for it. Zacharel has a bit of a tormented past and having command of others like him, makes him more then a little grouchy.
Zacharel and his team are sent to fight a group of demons that are swarming a psychiatric hospital. Once inside he finds Annabelle strapped to a bed, trying to verbally fight off one of her perverted doctors. He is intrigued by her fighting spirit and decides to take her with him.
In this story Zacharel and Annabelle are more then a match for each other. The verbal sparring and electric energy between them made for a very hot read. I loved Zacharel’s honesty and deep loyalty to those he considered his. He is a character that is very flawed but someone that any woman would want to call hers.
Annabelle is strong, sweet, and a real fighter. I was rooting for her from the first page and I loved her ability to overcome so much darkness. “Wicked nights” had so much in it to love, not the least of which was the new cast of characters. We have the trio of Thane, Bjorn, and Xerxes who are bound together by a brutal past. We are also introduced to Koldo, an angel who has lost his wings. I can’t tell you how much I wish all the other books were out already.
Gena Showalter’s books are full of characters that you fall in love with and stories that tie you up in knots and melt your insides. Gena is an amazing author and I always know that I am getting a wonderful read when I purchase one of her books.
